Kuwait Airways signed a strategic partnership agreement today, Tuesday, with Dima, a deferred payment company, to launch a new service that allows travelers to pay for air tickets in four equal installments without any additional profit or fees, effective August 1.
Abdulwahab Al-Shatti, Acting CEO of Kuwait Airways, stated that the service includes the ability to pay for air tickets in installments, as well as purchasing miles for the “Oasis Club” loyalty program and utilizing “Kuwait Holidays” and other services offered by the airline.
Al-Shatti added that the service will be launched in two phases, initially available through Kuwait Airways sales offices and the contact center (171), before expanding to the company’s website and official mobile application. He clarified that this agreement marks the first collaboration between Kuwait Airways and Dima, aligning with the airline’s strategy to enhance digital transformation by offering modern payment solutions that simplify booking procedures and improve customer experience.
He emphasized that the national carrier continues to implement its plans to develop its digital services and introduce innovative solutions that meet travelers’ needs and keep pace with the rapid developments in the aviation industry. He noted that the deferred payment service offers customers greater flexibility in completing bookings and payments, adding value to the company’s suite of electronic services, thereby enhancing ease of use and raising passenger satisfaction levels.
He further mentioned that Kuwait Airways is continuing to expand its partnerships with companies specializing in financial solutions and digital technologies, supporting the development of its electronic services and reinforcing its position as a national carrier providing advanced services and a comprehensive travel experience within and outside Kuwait.
For his part, Abdulaziz bin Jassim, CEO of Dima, said: “We are proud today to welcome Kuwait Airways, the national carrier of the State of Kuwait and one of its most prestigious symbols, to the Dima platform. This is not merely a commercial partnership, but a milestone in our journey. When the national carrier, with its rich history and entrenched status in the hearts of generations of Kuwaitis, places its trust in our solutions, it is the clearest evidence that Dima has become a cornerstone of Kuwait’s digital financial landscape, and that innovative national solutions can serve as reliable partners for the largest and most established institutions.”
He added: “Travel has long been a dream postponed until the right budget became available. Today, we are fundamentally changing this equation. Every traveler can now book a ticket to any destination served by Kuwait Airways and split the cost into four easy, equal installments, with no hidden fees or interest, through a seamless digital experience completed in under a minute. We are not just providing a payment method; we are giving people the freedom to travel on their own terms and redefining the relationship between the traveler and the decision to travel.”
Bin Jassim concluded: “This partnership represents an advanced model of integration between the aviation sector and digital financial services, an integration we believe will shape the next phase of digital transformation in Kuwait. The travel sector is one of the most closely linked to people’s lives and aspirations. Introducing flexible payment solutions into this sector means having a direct and tangible impact on the lives of thousands of families and travelers.”
