Al Jazeera launches direct flights to Deir ez-Zor

Jazeera Airways announced the launch of direct flights to the city of Deir ez-Zor in Syria, furthering its rapid expansion in the Syrian market and reinforcing its position as the fastest-growing airline on the Kuwait-Syria travel route. This new route follows the success of the airline’s resumption of flights to Damascus in July 2025 and the launch of services to Aleppo in June 2026. Jazeera Airways will begin operating two weekly flights to Deir ez-Zor starting August 8, and will soon increase its daily flights to Damascus from three to four, while continuing to operate three weekly flights to Aleppo.

Tamim Al-Madani, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Kuwait, said: “We welcome Jazeera Airways’ step to continue expanding its services in Syria and launching direct flights to Deir ez-Zor. This, along with the increase in flights to Damascus and the continuation of services to Aleppo, will help strengthen the historical ties between Syria and Kuwait by facilitating travel for families, businesspeople, and tourists. We also appreciate Jazeera Airways’ continued confidence in the Syrian market and its role in enhancing air connectivity between our two countries.”

With the new Deir ez-Zor route, Jazeera Airways has become the only airline offering direct flights from Kuwait to three Syrian cities, operating 26 weekly flights between Kuwait and Syria, providing the highest number of flights between the two countries. Since resuming flights to Damascus last year and launching services to Aleppo earlier this year, Jazeera Airways has carried more than 100,000 passengers across its Syrian destination network.

Paul Carroll, Head of Commercial at Jazeera Airways, said: “The launch of Deir ez-Zor flights is an extension of our strategy to build the largest network serving Syria. In just one year, we have expanded from serving one destination to connecting Kuwait with three Syrian cities, carrying more than 100,000 passengers, while increasing operational capacity in response to strong customer demand. This expansion reflects our long-term commitment to the Syrian market and our dedication to strengthening air connectivity, reuniting families and communities, and providing our customers with more options, flexibility, and value.”
