Egypt and Turkey sign letter of intent for defense cooperation

Turkey’s Anadolu Agency reported on Monday that Turkey and Egypt have signed a letter of intent for bilateral cooperation in the defense sector. The agency stated that this came at the conclusion of talks in the Turkish capital, Ankara, between Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and his Egyptian counterpart, Ashraf Sayed, who arrived in Turkey on an official visit. The agency added that the two ministers held bilateral discussions at the Turkish Ministry of Defense headquarters, followed by talks at the delegation level. It clarified that at the conclusion of the talks, the two ministers signed a letter of intent for defense cooperation between the two countries. The Egyptian Defense Minister had arrived in Turkey the previous day at the head of a military delegation to hold discussions on enhancing the prospects of military cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries in various fields.
