Electricity Authority: Tenders Authority Approves Awarding the Contract for "Updating Data Analysis Equipment for Power Stations"

Darine Al-Ali The Central Tenders Committee last week approved the award of a contract to upgrade the data collection and analysis equipment at existing power generation stations and major substations, based on observations from the Court of Audit, at a total cost of 13.971 million Kuwaiti dinars, distributed across five items among bids that met the required conditions and specifications. The Committee requested that bidders extend the initial insurance for all participating companies, in accordance with Article 46 of Public Tenders Law No. 49 of 2016, which pertains to the validity period of bids. The tender aims to upgrade the equipment for collecting data from power generation and transmission stations, ensuring they are fully operational and highly efficient in carrying out their assigned tasks. This initiative aligns with the Ministry’s efforts to modernize and develop the electricity grid and its components, including generation and transmission stations, which are fundamental elements of the network. It will also enable decision-makers within the Ministry to make sound, data-driven decisions based on accurate information provided by this equipment. Notably, several companies filed complaints with the Committee regarding the aforementioned tender, and the Committee, in turn, decided to notify the companies of its award decision.
