Deputy Minister of Higher Education: Continuous support and follow-up for sponsored students throughout their academic journey

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Dr. Badr Al-Basiri, affirmed yesterday that the ministry will continue to support and monitor scholarship students throughout their academic journey, contributing to creating an appropriate environment for their success and overcoming any challenges they may face. This statement was made by Al-Basiri during an orientation session hosted by the Ministry of Higher Education for students admitted to the external scholarship program for the 2026/2027 academic year, as part of its efforts to prepare and equip students before embarking on their studies.

Al-Basiri stated that the ministry’s cultural offices in host countries will continue to provide support, monitoring, and guidance to students, ensuring a conducive environment for their success until their return to the country, where they will have achieved their academic aspirations and fulfilled their nation’s expectations. He added that the orientation session culminates the national external scholarship campaign, "Wajihni" (Guide Me), and complements the ministry’s efforts to prepare and equip students before they begin their academic journeys.

He highlighted the ministry’s commitment to standing by students at all stages, starting from awareness and guidance, through registration and admission, up to the orientation session. This session aims to familiarize students with post-admission procedures for scholarships and answer their inquiries, enabling them to start their journey with confidence and peace of mind.

Al-Basiri conveyed congratulations from Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nader Al-Jarallah, to the students upon their acceptance into the external scholarship program for the 2026/2027 academic year, wishing them success and achievement in their academic careers, the realization of their ambitions, and their return to the country with knowledge and expertise to contribute to the development process and serve the State of Kuwait. He emphasized that the nation places great hopes on scholarship students and trusts in their ability to become exemplary models of the Kuwaiti student at universities worldwide, urging them to strive, maintain discipline, and make the most of the scholarship opportunity to pursue knowledge, acquire expertise, and build their scientific and professional identities, so they may become the best ambassadors for the State of Kuwait, reflecting its values and representing it in the best possible manner.

Al-Basiri extended his thanks and appreciation to all participating government entities and the strategic partner of the "Wajihni" campaign, Kuwait Finance House (KFH), for their cooperation, support, and contribution to the campaign’s success, which exemplifies the integration of efforts in serving students. He wished the students success in their academic journey and a return to the country bearing knowledge and expertise to serve as a resource for the development process and contribute to building Kuwait’s future.

For his part, Faisal Al-Saad, First Director of Public Relations and Events at Kuwait Finance House, affirmed in his speech that the bank’s participation in the "Wajihni" campaign in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education underscores its ongoing commitment to supporting education and empowering youth, which are fundamental pillars of the bank’s corporate social responsibility and sustainability strategy.

Al-Saad stated that education represents the most important investment in Kuwait’s future, and empowering youth begins by providing them with accurate information and proper guidance, which contributes to making successful academic decisions. He added that Kuwait Finance House views students and youth as the nation’s true wealth and, from this perspective, strives to support educational initiatives that contribute to developing their capabilities, refining their skills, and preparing them for a promising professional future.

He noted that the bank continues to support training, awareness programs, and initiatives that enhance youth readiness for the job market and enable them to innovate and create, expressing his pride in the ongoing partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education in the "Wajihni" campaign, which has reached thousands of students and parents and enhanced their academic awareness.

The orientation session included four main topics presented by representatives of the participating entities, each addressing their respective areas, with the aim of familiarizing students with key guidelines and procedures related to the scholarship stage and preparing for academic life abroad. The educational and advisory topic covered the procedures and requirements students must complete before departure, the role of academic advisors, required documents, and university conditions in host countries. The security topic presented several awareness guidelines regarding cybercrimes, drug abuse prevention, and safety measures during their stay abroad. The health topic addressed key health guidelines and advice relevant to students during their scholarship journey. Meanwhile, the financial topic, presented by Kuwait Finance House, the campaign’s strategic partner, covered various subjects related to accounts, services, and banking matters.
