Ministry of Health: Opening of the new expansion of the Farwaniya Center for Food Handlers Testing

Abdul Karim Al-Abdullah: Dr. Mona Al-Khabbaz, Director of the Public Health Administration at the Ministry of Health, announced the opening of the new expansion of the Farwaniya Center for Food Handlers and Other Groups. She noted that this initiative is part of the Ministry’s strategy to develop the preventive services system and enhance the efficiency of examination centers, keeping pace with the continuous increase in the number of visitors and elevating the quality of services provided according to the best standards.

In a statement to “Al-Anbaa,” she added that this expansion represents a continuation of the Ministry’s efforts to develop the services of the Food Handlers and Other Groups Health Department since the opening of the Farwaniya Center in January 2024. She emphasized that the Ministry is keen on providing a comprehensive health environment that ensures speed of execution, accuracy of procedures, and visitor comfort, thereby contributing to strengthening public health and protecting society.

She clarified that the new expansion is equipped with modern facilities, including three registration clinics, two clinical examination clinics, and two blood sampling and vaccination clinics. This will increase the center’s capacity, accelerate examination procedures, reduce waiting times, and improve the visitor experience and operational efficiency.

She pointed out that the project will provide additional spaces within the main building, enhancing visitor flow and offering greater privacy and comfort. This will help reduce the average time required to complete registration, medical examination, and issuance of fitness certificates in record time, reflecting operational efficiency and service quality.

Dr. Al-Khabbaz confirmed that the Farwaniya Center is the second specialized center of its kind in Kuwait, following the East Center. It provides examination services for food handlers and workers in food establishments, as well as other professional groups whose nature of work requires obtaining a fitness certificate. She noted that these services represent one of the key preventive pillars for protecting public health and ensuring community safety.

She reaffirmed the Ministry of Health’s continued implementation of plans to develop the infrastructure of health facilities, enhance the efficiency of preventive services, and adopt best operational practices. These efforts aim to achieve the highest levels of quality and efficiency, meet the aspirations of citizens and residents, and strengthen the public health system in the State of Kuwait.
