Al-Fahaheel closes its foreign players chapter by signing Fortis

The administrative staff of Al-Fahheel Club’s first football team has completed its signings with foreign professionals, after signing former Cape Verde national team winger Alvin Fortes (32), who joins from Malaysian club Selangor. This completes the club’s “five-professional” roster, alongside Brazilian striker Vitor da Silva, his compatriot defender Bruno Calixto, South African striker Ranga Chivavaro, and Ethiopian midfielder Gatosh Banum.

Fortes previously played for several clubs in the Netherlands, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, with his most recent stint being with Selangor last season, where he appeared in 40 matches and scored 14 goals.

Al-Fahheel’s management also finalized several domestic signings, adding striker Hamad Al-Taweel from Khaitan, defender Mohammed Al-Farsi (from Al-Nasr), Aziz Naji (from Al-Sahel), and former Al-Tadamun goalkeeper Ali Fadel.

Meanwhile, Al-Sahel Club has signed Tunisian coach Rafea bin Abdulrazzaq to take charge as the first team’s fitness coach.

“Sons of Abu Halifa” began their daily training sessions at the start of last week in preparation for the decisive stages of the First Division, which offer promotion spots to the Zain Premier League. Al-Sahel is competing for one of the promotion places to the Premier League and currently tops the standings with 29 points.
