Interior Ministry: Response to stabbing of security officer in Ali Al-Salim complied with the law

The Ministry of Interior clarified that during the execution of its security duties, a patrol in the Ali Sabah Al-Salem area stopped an individual, who was found to be subject to an arrest warrant. While officers were carrying out the necessary procedures to detain him, he resisted the security forces and assaulted one of them using a bladed weapon (a knife), resulting in the security officer being stabbed twice in the neck and thigh.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, security forces took the necessary measures to respond to the assault and neutralize the threat in accordance with the law, which necessitated the use of firearms against the attacker. The attacker and the injured security officer were transported to the hospital; the attacker succumbed to his injuries, while the security officer was taken to the operating room for necessary medical intervention and is currently receiving medical care.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the relevant authorities have been notified of the incident, and legal procedures and an investigation into the circumstances are underway.
