Ministry of Culture Celebrates First Cohort of Oud House in Riyadh

The Music Authority hosted the first graduation ceremony for students of the Oud House in Riyadh at the Riyadh Literary Club, celebrating the completion of their educational journey. This step reflects the Authority’s efforts to develop music education and empower national talents. The ceremony featured performances by the graduates, showcasing the artistic skills they acquired during their studies, and embodying the Authority’s commitment to providing music learning opportunities for all, empowering practitioners, building a sustainable music ecosystem, and offering career pathways that contribute to the growth of the music sector in the Kingdom.
The Oud House is a specialized center for teaching musical instrument performance, established in September 2023 by the Music Authority under the leadership of musician Nassim Shamma. It is part of a network of branches spread across several Arab countries. The center aims to discover and nurture talents through educational and training programs that combine theoretical study with practical application, under the supervision of a distinguished group of musicians and specialists.
For his part, Bassam Pacifico, CEO of the Music Authority, stated that the first graduation ceremony of the Oud House in Riyadh represents an important milestone in achieving the Authority’s strategic vision, which aims to expand access to music education, discover national talents, and develop their capabilities. He added that qualifying graduates and empowering them to transfer their knowledge and expertise will help expand the impact of these initiatives, strengthen the music education system, and support the growth of the music sector in the Kingdom.
