Opta’s supercomputer has tipped France to win the 2026 World Cup title, following the completion of the bracket with the teams that have reached the semi-finals. The model gave France the highest probability of winning the title at 34.05%, ahead of Spain with 23.45%, followed by England at 21.94%, while Argentina came in fourth with 20.55%. The supercomputer also predicted that France would reach the final by defeating Spain, with a probability of 57.70%, while giving England a slight edge over Argentina, with chances of 50.9% compared to 49.6% for the defending champions. Despite Argentina topping the FIFA World Rankings before the tournament began, Opta’s forecasts suggest that the French national team is the closest to lifting the trophy at the conclusion of the competition.
