Minister of Social Affairs: Compliance with all approved technical requirements in wedding halls

The Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, held discussions with the Commander of the General Fire Force, Major General Talal Al-Roumi, on ways to strengthen the safety and security system in wedding halls under the ministry’s jurisdiction and in care homes, and to enhance readiness levels to ensure the safety of beneficiaries.

In a press statement, the Ministry of Social Affairs said the meeting addressed mechanisms to enhance coordination between the ministry and the General Fire Force to ensure full compliance with safety and security requirements in facilities under the ministry’s purview, particularly wedding halls and care homes.

The statement quoted Al-Huwail emphasizing the importance of adhering to all approved technical regulations in wedding halls to safeguard visitors and facilitate the expedited issuance of licenses in accordance with regulatory frameworks. She stressed the need for periodic and comprehensive inspections of all wedding halls, the enhancement of readiness among the human resources responsible for these venues, and the adoption of an early warning system as part of a future development plan for these halls, thereby improving response speed and raising prevention and safety standards.

She also highlighted the importance of continuous monitoring of safety and security systems in all care homes under the ministry, the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities, and the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, to ensure a safe environment for beneficiaries and staff. She directed the preparation of training programs and specialized courses for specialists in entities affiliated with the ministry, aimed at enhancing their competence in applying safety and security regulations and handling emergency situations.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Khalid Al-Ajmi, and several senior officials from the Ministry of Social Affairs and the General Fire Force.
