257 cars towed and 211 violations issued in Al-Ahmadi during June
The General Hygiene and Road Obstructions Department at the Al Ahmadi Governorate Municipality Branch carried out inspection campaigns during June to monitor public hygiene services across all areas of the governorate. These campaigns included supervision, follow-up, and oversight of public cleanliness, monitoring the work of public hygiene contractors and companies, and tracking down street vendors. The department worked to implement laws, regulations, and decisions issued regarding public hygiene and road obstructions within the governorate’s jurisdiction, aiming to raise hygiene standards and remove anything that obstructs roads or detracts from the public image, by clearing abandoned cars, boats, and scrap from squares and streets.
In this context, Saad Al-Kharinj, Acting Director of the Al Ahmadi Governorate Municipality Branch, explained that the objective of the intensive field inspection campaigns was to identify negative phenomena and take all legal measures against violators. He noted that his supervisory team places great emphasis on improving cleanliness in the areas under its responsibility, as well as removing anything that mars the aesthetic appeal and obstructs roads in all areas, through field rounds aimed at preserving the governorate’s civilized appearance.
Al-Kharinj confirmed that his supervisory team in the General Hygiene and Road Obstructions Department conducted field rounds during June, resulting in the removal of 257 abandoned cars and 12 mobile carts, and the posting of 1,983 notices on abandoned cars and boats prior to their removal after the specified period. Additionally, 211 violations were issued for breaches of public hygiene regulations, misuse of public space, and street vending. Meanwhile, the Road Obstructions Monitoring Unit renewed 14 road obstruction permits and issued 19 new permits.
He pointed out that field campaigns by the supervisory team in the General Hygiene and Road Obstructions Department will continue, emphasizing that there will be no leniency in taking all legal measures against violators of the Public Hygiene and Road Obstructions Regulations.
