Iraq reaffirms its commitment to not allowing its territory to be used as a launching pad for any attacks targeting the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the region

Saudi Foreign Minister, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, and Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Fuad Hussein, chaired a meeting between the Saudi and Iraqi sides. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance them across various fields, in addition to reviewing recent developments in the region and issues of mutual interest. Both sides emphasized the importance of respecting national sovereignty, good neighborliness, non-interference in internal affairs, and rejecting the use of any country’s territory to threaten the security and stability of other states. Iraq reaffirmed its commitment to not allowing its territory or airspace to be used as a launching point for any actions or attacks targeting the Kingdom, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, or other states in the region. Both sides also stressed the importance of supporting Iraq’s security and stability, strengthening the role of its national institutions, and continuing coordination and cooperation between the two countries in a manner that serves their shared interests and contributes to safeguarding the security and stability of the region.
