73.8 million dinars in transfer orders to enhance road maintenance contracts across various governorates

The Board of Directors of the Central Tenders Committee approved a series of first change orders for contracts related to major and general road maintenance, based on requests submitted by the Ministry of Public Works. These changes included increasing the value of several contracts by 25% of their original amounts, in order to meet the requirements for implementing the projects and associated works.

The approvals covered the issuance of first change orders for major road maintenance contracts across various governorates, including Farwaniya (Districts 1 and 2), Jahra (Districts 1 and 2), the Capital (Districts 1 and 2), Hawalli (Districts 1 and 2), as well as Ahmadi (District 1) and Mubarak Al-Kabeer (Districts 1 and 2), in accordance with the justifications outlined in letters from the Ministry of Public Works.

The Committee also approved the issuance of change orders for general maintenance contracts for several main roads. These included a contract for the maintenance of Abdali Road and Jahra Road, as well as two separate change orders for two contracts dedicated to maintaining Salima Road, which are being executed by different contractors. These approvals were granted after completing the necessary procedures and in line with the ministry’s requests.

The value of the approved change orders ranged from approximately 4.45 million to 7.97 million Kuwaiti dinars per contract. The major road maintenance contract in Ahmadi Governorate (District 1) recorded the highest increase, totaling 7.973 million dinars. The increases also covered maintenance contracts in the Capital, Farwaniya, Jahra, Hawalli, and Mubarak Al-Kabeer, as well as highway maintenance contracts.

These approvals are part of contractual measures aimed at completing maintenance works in accordance with project requirements and technical needs that arise during implementation. This supports the Ministry of Public Works’ ongoing program to rehabilitate and maintain the road network across various regions of the country, thereby enhancing the efficiency of the country’s road infrastructure.
