Ministry of Education Launches Its 47th Summer Session with Participation of 262 Students
Darine Al-Ali The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) launched its 47th summer training course, with 262 students participating, including 208 high school students and 54 university students, aiming to develop young people’s skills and strengthen their interest in scientific research. In a press statement, Mona Al-Filikaawi, Director of the Workforce Development Department at KISR, said the course is a continuation of the institute’s mission to disseminate scientific culture and consolidate the concepts of research and innovation. She noted the significant interest in the program, with 1,120 applications submitted, reflecting the community’s confidence in the role played by the institute.
Al-Filikaawi clarified that the program provides an educational and research environment that helps discover promising talents by combining theoretical aspects with practical applications in laboratories. She emphasized that investing in human resources is a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development, and she appreciated the contribution of the program’s sponsors in supporting human resources. For his part, Dr. Ayub Taher, Director of the current summer course, stated in the statement that the course includes a comprehensive scientific program featuring lectures and practical workshops designed to develop scientific and creative thinking skills and enhance students’ teamwork capabilities. Taher added that the program focuses on linking theoretical knowledge with practical application to provide a rich experience that nurtures participants’ passion for science and helps them explore their academic and professional paths, thereby supporting the preparation of a generation of national competencies. The institute has continued to organize this student course since its launch in 1976, representing one of its oldest community initiatives that has provided thousands of students with the opportunity to experience the scientific research environment and contribute to serving society.
