Egyptian and UAE Presidents Exchange Views on Developments in Regional and International Issues

Cairo - Khadija Hamouda and WAM: President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received, yesterday at Alamein Airport, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed with his brother, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, during his fraternal visit to Egypt, the fraternal relations and various aspects of cooperation and joint work to develop them in all fields, serving the common interests of the two countries and bringing prosperity and development to their brotherly peoples.

WAM clarified that the Egyptian and UAE Presidents exchanged views on developments of regional and international issues of common interest, foremost among them the recent developments in the Middle East region and the efforts made regarding them.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi emphasized during the meeting their commitment to continuing consultations on various issues in light of the shared challenges facing the region, which necessitate enhancing cooperation and joint work to preserve its security and stability.

For his part, Ambassador Mohamed Al-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that President al-Sisi welcomed His Highness the President of the UAE, who is visiting as a distinguished guest in his second country, Egypt, as part of a fraternal visit. He stressed the special status held by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and the UAE in Egypt and among its people, given the strength and depth of the historical and multifaceted relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples.

He added that Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his great gratitude and appreciation to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for the warm reception, emphasizing the fraternal and historical ties and relations that unite the leaderships and peoples of the two countries.

Al-Shenawy noted that the two Presidents discussed the entirety of bilateral relations, as well as developments in regional and international issues of common interest, particularly the recent developments in the Middle East region and the efforts made to avoid further escalation. They reaffirmed the necessity of continuing consultation, coordination, and joint work on various issues in light of the existing challenges facing the region.
