Zain Kuwait announced the launch of the seventh season of its Summer Youth Program, one of its most prominent sustainable community initiatives aimed at empowering the next generation of young national talents to enter the labor market. This year, the program returns with a renewed format that focuses entirely on on-the-job training within Zain’s main branches spread across various regions of Kuwait.
The current season sees the participation of 30 trainees, both male and female, from the university stage and recent graduates. They are distributed across 22 Zain branches in Kuwait, allowing them to gain direct practical experience in a real work environment. This exposure enables them to closely observe the nature of daily work at the forefront of the telecommunications and technology sector, while acquiring essential skills in sales, marketing, customer service, communication, and teamwork.
The program witnessed significant interest this year, with more than 2,400 young men and women applying during the registration phase. This high level of participation reflects the program’s growing reputation among students and ambitious youth seeking early practical experience. Subsequently, personal interviews were conducted with over 600 applicants to select those best suited to the program’s objectives and the nature of the field experience. A final list of selected trainees was then approved to embark on this practical journey within Zain’s branches.
The program offers participants an experience closer to market realities by having them work within fixed hours at Zain branches for five weeks. Trainees interact alongside work teams, learn about service delivery mechanisms and solutions for customers, understand customer needs, and engage practically and directly with various aspects of the marketing experience.
The program aims to enhance youth readiness for the labor market by connecting them with a dynamic and rapidly evolving work environment. Participants learn the fundamentals of professional communication, customer interaction, product and service understanding, and presentation and marketing techniques. Additionally, the program helps develop skills in discipline, responsibility, self-confidence, and problem-solving in daily situations.
The program also included an informative session that familiarized participants with the program’s objectives, pathways, and operational mechanisms within the branches. Furthermore, workshops and training sessions were conducted in collaboration with Junior Achievement Kuwait, focusing on developing personal and professional skills and enhancing trainees’ readiness for the labor market. The program also featured a series of recreational and interactive activities aimed at fostering teamwork, strengthening bonds among trainees, and creating a positive, motivating environment that combines practical learning with constructive interaction, thereby enriching their overall experience throughout the program.
The program’s focus on Zain’s branches reflects the company’s commitment to providing young people with a realistic training experience within one of the most critical touchpoints between the brand and its customers. Branches represent a vital space that integrates service, sales, marketing, and direct human interaction, offering trainees the opportunity to understand the comprehensive customer experience in the telecommunications sector.
