Warba and the Economic Association sign a memorandum of understanding to enhance economic awareness

Wafra Bank and the Kuwait Economic Association have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at establishing a strategic partnership that contributes to supporting economic development and enhancing financial and economic culture. This will be achieved through implementing joint programs and initiatives that combine banking expertise with academic and research perspectives, thereby serving the Kuwaiti society and aligning with sustainable development goals.

This agreement comes within the framework of Wafra Bank’s commitment to expanding its partnerships with civil society organizations and specialized entities, thereby strengthening its role in corporate social responsibility and contributing to supporting distinctive initiatives that elevate economic awareness and bolster national competencies.

Comprehensive Support for Economic and Research Activities

Under the terms of the memorandum, Wafra Bank will provide annual sponsorship for the activities of the Kuwait Economic Association, which include seminars, conferences, training courses, research studies, and economic reports. The bank will also support specialized initiatives and projects related to economic awareness, contributing to enhancing economic dialogue and the exchange of expertise among various sectors.

The agreement also includes cooperation in the periodic issuance of economic studies and reports, providing scientific analyses that highlight key economic developments and support decision-makers, researchers, and those interested in economic affairs.

Furthermore, the agreement stipulates cooperation in organizing training programs and workshops, and providing opportunities for Wafra Bank employees to participate in scientific and economic activities organized by the Association, thereby enhancing professional development and raising awareness of the latest economic and investment developments.

Cooperation also extends to utilizing the facilities of the Kuwait Economic Association to organize events, meetings, and training programs, supporting the continuity of joint initiatives and broadening their scope of impact.

Commenting on the occasion, Hamad Muaid Al-Sayer, Chairman of the Board at Wafra Bank, stated: “This partnership reflects Wafra Bank’s conviction in the importance of investing in knowledge and scientific research as fundamental pillars for achieving sustainable development. We believe that enhancing economic and financial culture is a shared responsibility between the banking sector and civil society organizations. For his part, Abdulaziz Al-Humaidi, President of the Kuwait Economic Association, said: “We are proud to conclude this partnership with Wafra Bank, which stands as a model for national institutions supporting community and developmental initiatives. This agreement will help expand the scope of programs offered by the Association, enhance the quality of economic studies and research, and launch new initiatives targeting various segments of society.”
