Work begins on the jury of the Arab Media Excellence Award in its tenth session, chaired by Kuwait

The jury meeting for the “Arab Media Excellence Award,” hosted by Kuwait as the award’s patron state, began yesterday to select the winners of the tenth edition, which covers categories of print, television, radio, and digital media.

At the opening of the meeting, Talal Al-Haifi, head of the jury and director of Al Arabiya channel at Kuwait Television, stated that the tenth edition of the award comes at a time marked by rapid transformations in the media landscape, necessitating the selection of the most outstanding works according to the highest professional standards, thereby reflecting the development of Arab media and its capacity to keep pace with changes.

Al-Haifi clarified that the current edition is held under the theme “Arab Media and Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges,” noting that this theme embodies a new generation of topics driven by rapid technological shifts. He added that the jury will spend two days judging the various categories and evaluating the nominated works, emphasizing that the selection process will be based on principles of transparency and recognized technical evaluation to ensure the identification of the best participating works.

He further explained that the jury is responsible for selecting works that reflect values of knowledge and innovation, highlighting media models capable of serving Arab societies and enhancing cooperation among them. Al-Haifi affirmed that the jury looks forward to results that reflect the level of development witnessed by Arab media, and to consolidating the award’s status as a platform for encouraging creativity and media excellence.

In this regard, the jury chairman expressed his appreciation for the committee members, hoping that the judging process would yield results befitting the stature of the “Arab Media Excellence Award” and contribute to supporting the trajectory of Arab media and keeping pace with future transformations.

Concluding his speech, Al-Haifi expressed his gratitude to the State of Kuwait and the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States for their efforts in organizing and sponsoring the award, considering its continuity as a reflection of the commitment to strengthening the shared path of Arab media, encouraging innovators, and elevating media practice in the region.

Participants in the meeting will spend two days reviewing the nominated works in preparation for selecting the winners across various categories according to the professional standards stipulated in the award’s statutes. The award aims to highlight outstanding media models, encourage professional competition and innovation across all fields of media work.
