Start of Auditions for the Second Season of the "State of Recitation" Program in Al-Gharbiya and Menofia Governorates

Cairo – Hanaa El-Sayed The preliminary auditions for the second season of the “State of Recitation” program were launched in the Gharbia and Menofia governorates, at the Sheikh Ahmed al-Badawi Mosque in Gharbia Governorate, under the patronage of Minister of Endowments Dr. Osama Al-Azhar, in collaboration with United Media Services Company, and as part of the Ministry of Endowments’ efforts to discover distinguished Quranic voices and reinforce the Egyptian school’s leadership in recitation. The Gharbia committee covers both Gharbia and Menofia governorates.

The judging panel included Sheikh Mohamed Mahmoud Al-Sa’idi, Sheikh Mohamed Al-Basyouni, Sheikh Mohamed Yahya Al-Sharqawi, and Sheikh Mohamed Abd al-Basir. The auditions were opened by Sheikh Ismail Ahmed, Director of the Gharbia Directorate of Endowments, who emphasized that the program represents a pioneering platform for discovering talents in Quranic recitation, encouraging them to develop their skills and showcase their abilities in a purposeful competitive environment.

These auditions come within the framework of the Ministry of Endowments’ efforts to discover and nurture individuals with distinguished voices in Quranic recitation, refining their talents according to scientific and artistic standards, thereby contributing to the preparation of a new generation of outstanding reciters, preserving the Egyptian school’s leadership in recitation, and strengthening the connection of youth and young adults with the Holy Quran.
