Kuwait Fire Service to Parents: Do not leave children unattended, ensure they wear life jackets, and teach them to swim

Coinciding with the increase in maritime trips and family outings during the summer season, the General Fireforce published an awareness post on its official platforms, containing a set of preventive guidelines aimed at protecting children from drowning incidents, and urging parents to adhere to them to ensure their children’s safety.

The Force emphasized that prevention begins with not leaving children unattended near bodies of water, whether at sea, in swimming pools, or elsewhere, and stressed the necessity of direct and continuous supervision while they are swimming, without being distracted by any means, given that moments of inattention can lead to tragic accidents. It also underscored the importance of teaching children basic swimming skills at an early age, as these are key measures that contribute to enhancing their safety, alongside the strict use of life jackets when engaging in maritime activities or being in designated areas for such purposes.
