Criminal Investigation Department Arrests Dentist in Possession of Narcotics and Psychoactive Substances for Personal Use

The General Directorate of Criminal Investigations, represented by the Department for Combating Human Trafficking and Negative Phenomena, arrested a citizen working as a dentist on charges of possessing narcotics and psychoactive substances with intent to consume them.

The incident involved the accused dentist exploiting social media platforms to advertise narcotics and psychoactive substances. Following precise investigations and intensified surveillance and monitoring, a well-planned ambush was set up, resulting in the arrest of the suspect in the act in one of the rented rooms. Police found in his possession two bags containing pieces of cannabis resin (hashish), three bags containing methamphetamine (shabu), ten capsules of Lariqa, a bag containing powdered narcotics, as well as consumption paraphernalia.

To continue legal procedures, and based on a warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, officers proceeded to the suspect’s residence and conducted a search. Inside his private wardrobe, they discovered additional hidden quantities, including a plastic container holding methamphetamine, 46 tablets of Captagon, three pieces of cannabis resin of varying sizes, and a quantity of assorted psychoactive tablets.

The suspect and all seized items were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action against him.
