Oman and India discuss enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and logistics

Oman’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Badr Al Busaidi, and India’s External Affairs Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, discussed ways to elevate the strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in the fields of trade, investment, energy, logistics, and modern technologies, as well as to encourage high-quality partnerships and mutual investments. The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the two sides also exchanged views during their meeting on Friday in Muscat on a number of current regional and international developments, including the situation concerning shipping and maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and its implications for international trade, energy supplies, and supply chains. The statement noted that the two ministers emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and consultation on these developments, and supporting efforts aimed at enhancing understanding and cooperation with various parties and mitigating the repercussions of the current situation in accordance with the provisions of international law and in a manner that takes into account the interests of the countries of the region.
