Saudi and Omani Foreign Ministers Emphasize the Importance of Safeguarding Waterway Security and Resolving Disputes Through Dialogue

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi in Muscat yesterday.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the meeting reviewed the close fraternal relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples, and explored ways to enhance and develop these ties in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both nations, raises the level of bilateral cooperation, and strengthens the trajectory of joint Gulf cooperation.
Following the meeting, the two ministers held an official discussion session, during which they reviewed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to enhance them across various fields, thereby supporting shared interests and strengthening the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman.
The two sides also discussed developments in regional and international affairs, exchanging views on issues of common interest, foremost among them developments related to the Strait of Hormuz. They emphasized the importance of preserving the security of waterways, ensuring freedom of navigation therein, and supporting efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region, as well as resolving conflicts through dialogue and peaceful means.
The session addressed several joint strategic projects, foremost among them the land crossing project between the two countries, alongside discussions on cooperation in transport networks and logistical connectivity, which contribute to strengthening ties between the two nations and support regional integration.
The two sides also explored opportunities to expand economic, trade, and investment cooperation, encourage partnerships between the public and private sectors, and capitalize on promising opportunities in sectors of mutual interest, thereby realizing the aspirations of the leaderships of both countries and elevating bilateral cooperation to broader horizons.
