Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulatif bin Rashid Al Zayani stated that Bahrain was subjected to an Iranian aggression that resumed this week, targeting civilian areas. He emphasized that there is no justification for targeting populated residential areas, vital facilities, or water stations.
Speaking during a session of the United Nations Security Council, Al Zayani added that the Iranian aggression threatened the safety of civil aviation and maritime navigation, and that these attacks had been documented in a detailed report submitted to the Council.
The Bahraini Foreign Minister affirmed that Iran’s attacks were not random but were deliberate and pre-planned, with more than 200 missiles and 600 drones launched toward Bahraini territory during the war. Al Zayani noted that Iran carried out these attacks despite the signing of a memorandum of understanding to halt the war. He stressed that the Security Council must not remain a passive observer of Iran’s violations.
