No Cancellation of Kiosks and Booths Inside Cooperatives

Sources in the Ministry of Social Affairs confirmed the ministry’s commitment to reassuring owners of small and medium-sized enterprises currently operating within cooperative societies, emphasizing that there will be no cancellation of kiosks and booths; rather, they will be reorganized to serve the public interest and safeguard the rights of their owners.

The sources explained that this follows instructions and directives from the Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaili, with coordination and consensus reached among relevant authorities. The ministry has been informed of the number, area, and locations of kiosks and booths in each cooperative society, ensuring optimal use of spaces, locations, and approved sizes in accordance with official regulations, while simultaneously guaranteeing the continuity of activities for small and medium-sized enterprise owners who wish to continue their operations.

She added that the objective of the reorganization is to achieve a balance between supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, preserving the civilized appearance within cooperative societies, enhancing public safety requirements, and providing a more stable environment for workers in this sector.

The sources stressed that the reorganization of kiosks and booths will be carried out according to clear and fair standards that respect the rights of beneficiaries, ensure no harm to existing activities, regulate the distribution of locations, and reduce randomness, thereby contributing to improved shopper flow and higher safety standards within the cooperatives.

They concluded by affirming that these measures serve the interests of all parties, whether kiosk and booth owners or consumers, by strengthening organization, elevating service quality, and consolidating stability in the small and medium-sized enterprise sector within cooperative societies.
