The Syrian General Authority for Ports and Customs confirmed that the number of Syrians voluntarily returning to the country through border crossings with Lebanon has reached 369,000 citizens since the liberation, as part of the facilitations and services provided by the Authority to returnees, which contribute to easing their return and enabling them to transport their belongings and personal items with ease.
The Authority, via its Telegram channel, stated that the total number of Syrian citizens voluntarily returning from Lebanon to Syria from the beginning of the liberation until the end of May reached 369,000 citizens, an indicator reflecting the continued pace of return to the homeland and the utilization of facilitations offered through border crossings.
These facilitations include simplifying procedures, accelerating the processing of transactions, and exempting luggage, personal, and household items from fees, thereby reducing the burdens on returning families and helping them complete their return procedures with ease.
According to the Authority, the total number of voluntary returnees from Lebanon to Syria through various border crossings from the beginning of 2026 until the end of May reached 150,000 citizens, accompanied by approximately 6,700 vehicles loaded with furniture and household goods. The entry of these vehicles was facilitated and they were exempted from fees to support returning families and aid their stability. Among them, approximately 35,000 citizens entered through the Jadida Yabous border crossing, accompanied by more than 2,700 vehicles loaded with furniture and household items, which were allowed entry free of charge and exempted from fees as part of the facilitations designated for returnees.
