The Director General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jointly Produced Programmes Production Organization, Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al-Jaber, affirmed that the foundation laid by the pioneering generation of leaders and officials serves as a beacon from which the organization draws inspiration for its current trajectory, aligning with the national and developmental visions of the GCC member states.
The organization stated in a statement to KUNA yesterday that this remark was made during the ceremony honoring Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al-Jaber for commemorating the first Director General of the organization, Ibrahim Al-Abdalmohsen, on the occasion of the organization’s 50th anniversary.
Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said during the ceremony, “We are keen to recall and appreciate the pioneers whose efforts and achievements contributed to shaping smiles, awareness, thought, and culture within Gulf society.” He added that “as the organization celebrates half a century since its establishment, it believes in the importance of honoring all those who contributed to consolidating its media and educational mission and building works that remain firmly embedded in the collective memory of Gulf generations.” He continued, “With the experience and achievements of the pioneers and founders, and the innovation and creativity of the youth, we create distinctive and sustainable Gulf content.”
For his part, Al-Abdalmohsen expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the organization, represented by its Director General Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, for this kind gesture, emphasizing his pride in the period he spent serving the organization and Gulf media.
Al-Abdalmohsen headed the organization from 1976 to 1988, a period considered one of its most prominent phases of activity, during which it produced enduring educational and awareness works, including “Open Sesame” and “Salamak,” which remain vivid in the hearts of Gulf viewers to this day.
Al-Abdalmohsen earned a bachelor’s degree in media from the University of Texas in 1968 and a master’s degree in media from Ball State University in Indiana in 1975, in addition to working as an executive producer for several Gulf educational and awareness programs such as “Qaf,” “Gulf Treasures,” “Issues and Responses,” and other works that contributed to enhancing the purposeful media message in the GCC member states.
