His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, sent a condolence message to his brother, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the sisterly State of Qatar. In his message, His Highness, may God protect him, expressed on behalf of himself, the government, and the Kuwaiti people, deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to His Highness, the ruling family, and the brotherly Qatari people, upon the passing of the late, may God have mercy on him, His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may God bless his soul.

His Highness added that the State of Kuwait and its people, who were pained by this tragedy, will always proudly recall the positions of the sisterly State of Qatar and the late ruler, may God have mercy on him, towards Kuwait and their support for its just causes during the Iraqi occupation period. His Highness also praised the comprehensive developmental renaissance and significant progress achieved by the sisterly State of Qatar during his blessed reign, which elevated it to the ranks of advanced nations.

His Highness prayed to Almighty God to envelop the late, may God have mercy on him, His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, in His vast mercy, forgiveness, and pleasure, and to grant him a spacious place in Paradise among the righteous, martyrs, and truthful, and to make them his good companions. He also prayed that God grant his brother, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the ruling family, and the brotherly Qatari people beautiful patience and excellent consolation.

For his part, His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, sent a condolence message to his brother, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, including his sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to His Highness, the ruling family, and the brotherly Qatari people upon the passing of the late, may God have mercy on him, the Amir.

KUNA – The Diwan Amiri announced the following: “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, by order of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and guard him, official mourning is declared, and flags are lowered within the country and at Kuwait’s embassies abroad, starting from today, Sunday, 27 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to July 12, 2026 CE, for a period of four days, in mourning for the passing of the late, may God have mercy on him, His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. We ask Almighty God to envelop the deceased in His vast mercy and forgiveness, grant him a spacious place in Paradise, and reward him abundantly for what he contributed to his nation.”

Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Salim Al-Sabah sent a condolence message to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs of the sisterly State of Qatar, Saud bin Abdulrahman. The Ministry of Defense stated in a statement on Sunday that the Minister of Defense included his sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy in his message upon the passing of the late, may God have mercy on him, the Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, may God bless his soul, praying to Almighty God to envelop the deceased in His vast mercy, grant him a spacious place in Paradise, and inspire the ruling family with beautiful patience and excellent consolation.

The Bahraini Royal Diwan mourned the great loss of the State of Qatar, the late Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The Diwan stated in a message that by order of the King of Bahrain, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, a decision was issued to declare official mourning and lower flags in the Kingdom for four days, in mourning for the passing of the late, may God have mercy on him, the Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
