US Homeland Security Secretary: I danced with joy after Iran's exit from the World Cup - Sarmad

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Marco Rubio said he performed a “happy dance” and “sang one or two songs” to celebrate Iran’s elimination from the World Cup, remarks that sparked angry reactions from the Iranian Football Federation.

The Iranian national team was eliminated from the World Cup after drawing all three of their group-stage matches, the last of which ended in a 1-1 draw against Egypt.

Rubio expressed his delight at the result during a press briefing on Monday, as reported by The New York Times.

Rubio said, “I’m glad they’re out of the tournament and won’t be back. I was very happy when we were able to revoke their visas and inform them that they had to leave U.S. soil. I may have sung one or two songs, and perhaps even performed a happy dance.”
