His Highness the Amir Receives the Minister of Justice and the Undersecretary of the Ministry on the Occasion of Their Appointment to Their New Positions
The threats issued by Israeli Defense Forces Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir to launch a rapid attack against Lebanon in the event of a ceasefire violation, made during his inspection of Israeli military forces at the occupied Shab’a Farms area in southern Lebanon, accompanied by several military commanders, underscore the continued violations of the ceasefire by the Israeli army. These actions disregard the daily breaches committed by Israeli forces, despite the framework agreement signed by both sides last June under US sponsorship. The presence of the Israeli occupation army on Lebanese territory threatens the agreement document, which includes a declaration by both parties of their intention to end their conflict definitively, address its root causes, and formally terminate any state of war between them. The ambitions of the occupying entity are not confined to occupying land in occupied Palestine; they extend further into parts of Lebanon and Syria under the pretext of protecting its borders with those two countries. This persistent arrogance must be brought to an end.
