Qatari Prime Minister Discusses Latest Developments in Syria with Syrian Foreign Minister

Doha, July 4 (KUNA) -- The Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks today, Saturday, with the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Al-Shaibani, to discuss the latest developments in Syria. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the meeting took place during the Qatari Prime Minister’s reception of Minister Al-Shaibani in the Qatari capital, Doha. The statement noted that the meeting reviewed the cooperative relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them, as well as the latest developments on the Syrian scene and a number of issues of mutual interest. The Qatari Prime Minister reaffirmed Qatar’s support for Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and independence, and for realizing the aspirations of its brotherly people to live with dignity and to build a state based on institutions and the rule of law.
